You know this, of course; this is basically Pokemon Fighting But do you know the exact numbers involved in the types? Here's the deal: for every green plus you see, the attack will do double damage. For every yellow dash that is, an ineffective attack , the attack will do half damage. Multiplication is used to deal with duel-types. For example, say my Pikachu uses a Thunderbolt against a Gyarados. Electric-type attacks do double damage against Water types, and do double damage against Flying types.
This works the other way too, of course. Electric attacks do half damage against Electric types, and double damage against Flying types. If an attack is nullified, shown by the red X in the chart, it doesn't matter if the Pokemon being hit is a duel type.
If he's hit with a Poison attack, no damage will be inflicted. Although Dragon types are neutral to Poison attacks, Steel types nullify them. Now, the point of all this is to illustrate something: this section of the Pokemon Battle Revolution guide makes all this math unnecessary.
We have listed every single Pokemon in the game alphabetically, and next to each is a list of what attacks work well, and which don't. Let's take the entry of my favorite Pokemon, Articuno , as an example.
This means that, if you're fighting against an Articuno, your best bet will be to use Rock-type attacks. Each one will be Ultra-effective our own term , doing quadruple damage. If you can't do a Rock attack, go with Fire, Electric, or Steel attacks, all of which do double damage.
Avoid using Grass or Bug attacks, because they'll only do half damage. Ground attacks are worse, being nullified against an Articuno. All attacks not listed such as Fighting, Psychic, Ghost, Normal, etc.
Because they simplified the types to make it possible to build reasonable decks. If it has no symbol next to it, it means X2. A weakness on more recent cards tends to be a multiplier, like times two. Benched Pokemon never take weakness or resistance into account. How do weaknesses work in Pokemon card game? What counts as attacks Pokemon TCG? Whenever a Pokemon retreats to your bench, all special conditions are removed. When a Pokemon is asleep , indicate it with with a token or by turning the card to the left.
After your turn, flip a coin. If heads, your Pokemon wakes up. If tails, they stay asleep. When a Pokemon is burned , indicate it with a token. After taking damage from this condition, flip a coin. If heads, your Pokemon is no longer burned. Otherwise, your Pokemon remains burned until it retreats. When a Pokemon is confused , indicate it by turning the card upside down.
Confused Pokemon must flip a coin after they declare an attack. If heads, the attack happens as normal. If tails, the attack is canceled and the attacking Pokemon takes 30 damage instead! This condition remains until your Pokemon is retreated or becomes Asleep or Paralyzed.
When a Pokemon is paralyzed , indicate it with a token or by turning the card to the right. While a Pokemon is paralyzed, they cannot attack or retreat on their next turn.
This condition is removed at the end of your turn. When a Pokemon is poisoned , indicate it with a token. While poisoned, a Pokemon takes 10 damage between each turn. This condition remains until your Pokemon retreats. Some Pokemon, like Eevee, have an ability. These abilities have a wide range of effects, so be sure to carefully read the text and follow it directly in order to properly resolve the ability. Next to the word basic is the name of the Pokemon, in this case Pikachu. Now, on each turn , you will follow these steps: Draw a card.
