Spells cast with the Clearcasting state will also not start the five second timer. Totems, on the other hand, will start the five second timer. Prior to the 1. In-game textual references to the five second rule still read "while casting" where they actually should read "after casting".
Many effects increase mana regeneration directly i. These effects are governed by different rules than spirit-based regeneration. Most items which restore mana, including various types of water as well as equipable items such as Anathema , works similarly to spirit-based regeneration in that they regenerate mana in ticks of 2 seconds.
Unlike the spirit-based regeneration, however, the five second rule does not apply to these effects. That is, after casting a spell, mana regeneration from these items will continue. This can make a difference in fights, where long chains of uninterupted spell casting both drains mana and halts spirit-based regeneration. A few items, such as Second Wind , as well as some spells, like Blessing of Wisdom , does not regenerate mana in 2 second ticks but rather in the intervals actually advertised in their tooltips.
The five second rule does not apply to these effects either. In theory, direct regeneration is preferable over spirit-based regen, as it is not subject to the five second rule. The correct way to find out which is better would be to find your personal percentage spent inside the five second rule, e.
Knowing the percentage, you now have a base to compare the relative merits of different item sets with high accuracy. See list of authors. Vanilla WoW Wiki Explore. World of Warcraft: Classic. So basically every one should see an increase. Post by Celdhyrean Question: why are we giving Druids a bigger buff from spirit than preists? Two comments on your question : - if "x" was the same for both druids and priests, it would mean that druids have 3. Not really game breaking especially since they should rarely be out of it, so you arrive at a whooping 1.
This shows that looking at the "fixed" part of the formula might make us believe there is a difference, but it ends up being quite negligible one we start accumulating spirit. Since we are dividing by x, it means that priests end up with higher mana regen for the same amounf of spirit So why do priests have more regen than druids?
This i don't know. Post by Avalonia Its basically looking like a boost to spirit based classes and spirit builds. So druids and priests should start stacking spirit where as shamans and paladins are still better off with mp5 due to their lack of a meditation type of talent. Priests and druids were always meant to be spirit based.
Druids were going along just fine with being spirit based. Priests needed help to bennefit more from spirit and it seems that if you are a priest now then spirit becomes your thing again. It will also be nice because you can actually stack intelect as well which makes you much more viable where as you had to pretty much destroy intelect to get a spirit build in the old days in the early gearing stages.
Post by Feanora One thing though: MP5 is also useful during casting. Heavy caster classes such as Mages and Priests are going to be casting almost non stop. Spirit only works when a spell is not being cast.
